WHY CHOOSE THE MONTESSORI APPROACH?

The Montessori Method was first put into practice in 1907, when Italian physician and educator Maria Montessori opened the very first Montessori nursery in Rome. The Montessori approach differs from traditional education as students are allowed to choose from a range of presented activities, following their own interests within a structured environment, using the “discovery” model to explore the world around them through practical play. It operates with a respect for the natural psychological, physical, and social development of your child to develop skills and self-esteem.

"My son has been at this nursery for the past 6 months and he has thrived in the nursery environment with all the care that the staff provide which has always been very respectful and professional."

"I currently have two children at Maytime Montessori Nursery and they both joined from the age of one. They both show steady growth in their communication and interaction levels, activities and knowledgeability, and most of all the difference between good and bad. They work in a person-centered approach thereby attending to each child in a way that the child understands and retains the knowledge. From the age of two, I notice an upgrade in my children’s vocabulary and found out that the carers take their job seriously and take their time to ensure that each child daily activity is documented and feedback given to each parent.

I have rated Maytime Montessori Nursery four stars for understanding each child, for the clean state of the environment, the tools and toys available, the safety measures and most of all the facilities accessibility."

"I chose to visit this nursery as I wanted to place my daughter in a Montessori nursery but the surrounding nurseries that I had visited did not meet the Montessori requirements in my eyes. This nursery is well equipped with challenging tasks and equipment. It is clean, organised and well run.
My daughter was in the baby room and every member of staff from the first point of contact was so welcoming whilst extremely professional and knowledgeable. The transition for my baby starting was excellent. I was made to feel valued, welcome, part of the family and I could tell they respected and cared for my child. Pam (baby room) is one of a kind. She knew my baby like she was her own child. My daughter loved Pam, as did I. I could leave my baby knowing she would be well cared for and have all of her needs met and nurtured.
Natasha is an excellent manager, she is caring, kind but firm. I recommend this nursery 100%

"An excellent nursery with efficient staff, an authoritative yet kind manager and high food and hygiene standards. My son was extremely happy over the 2 years he attended here. We were promised he would be out of nappies within 6 weeks and he was, solely because of the deputy manager at the nursery. Excellent parent-communication (via newsletter, e-mail and phone). A real sense of community here. I am sad to see my son leave to go to school and I know my son will miss everyone desperately. Thank you for a wonderful 2 years."

"Very happy with Maytime. My daughter was very well looked after and cared for during her 4 years here. She was always happy, never came home with any problems.
All staff are very caring. Teaching levels are excellent. My daughter has left happy being confident. She has loved her time here. Most of all the staff are very nice, they genuinely care for the children. They worked with me to solve small issues with my child when I needed the support."

"My child has attended since he was 11 months old and now leaving to start Primary School. The reason why we chose Maytime Montessori (Eastwood Road) is because we instantly felt the warm homely feeling and observed dedication and genuine love/care from the managerial level to all the staff. This was the feeling all throughout the last 3 years. Children are comfortable with staff all across the Nursery. They do not use supply staff to cover, they bring staff from other branches to cover any leave so that they have experienced staff all the time and people the children are familiar with. Never thought a Nursery would feel so close to home! We as parents felt comfortable liaising with the friendly, professional staff; some of them felt like family to us."
